前巴西的玩具国内标准是NM 300, 该标准包括物理，燃烧，重金属，电池驱动玩具部分，分别和ISO8124 第1，2，3部分和EN50088是相似的。2007年的中期，巴西当地有些相关机构仍然接受EN71,ASTM的测试报告作为支持文件来进行进口申请。由于化学测试上的问题，巴西海关改变了上述做法，新的进口质量控制规则已在2007年8月开始实施，所有在该期限之后进口到巴西的每批玩具需要针对由当地海关进行检验并授权当地的认证测试机构进行抽样测试。

   具体流程如下： 
    1． 进口商将形式发票和产品照片递交到巴西权利机构Inmetro所认可的认证机构。 
    2． 该认证机构将给出委托条款和合同。根据巴西政府对外贸易办公室（SECEX）所主管的SISCOMEX官方系统，以上的资料（发票，产品照片，委托条款和合同）是申请临时进口注册的支持文件。  
    3． 进口玩具产品到达海关后将被暂时交给海关保管，经授权的认证公司会到现场抽样，然后将样品送到有资格的实验室进行测试。 
    4． 按照NM300的标准，抽样量如下：
 
       6000 单位产品以上        ―― 3个样品
       6001到10000产品之间――――― 30 个样品
       10001以上―――――――――― 40个样品
 
    5． 如果测试结果合格，该批进口产品的符合性证书会颁发出来，进口凭借该证书可申请最终的进口证书。 
 
    6． 如果测试结果不合格，该批产品会当即销毁或者遣返回生产国。 

    *注巴西是南美洲共同市场（包括巴西，乌拉圭，巴拉圭，阿根廷）上唯一要求在产品包装上打上年龄标志和警告语的国家，不符合该规定的产品不能进口到巴西。

From August 2007 onwards, Brazil requires all imported toys to be certified in accordance wITh the more cumbersome "System 7" of the Mercosur Technical Regulations on Toy safety (MERCOSUR/GMC/RES No3/2004), which requires samples of every imported lot to be tested to ensure compliance with the applicable safety regulations.Toy importers have to comply with the following procedures. 

Toy importers submit the invoice and products pictures to a laboratory accredited by the National Institute of Technology, Normalisation and Industrial Quality (INMETRO).
The import licence request must include under the field for additional information the number of the certification contract signed between the importer and the INMETRO-accredited certification body.
The toys will be warehoused until testing is conducted. The accredited certification body will issue a certification after testing is completed.
Sample testing will be conducted as the requirement of NM300.
Once the shipment has been certified, the importer must submit the certification to the Bank of Brazil in order to receive the import licence.
Once the toys faiLED to meet the requirement, the products will be estroyed immediately or sent back the country of origin.
Note: Brazil is the only one country of South American Common Market that requires a label including age sign and warnings. The toys without a label required cannot gain access to the Brazilian market.
